Ventao is one of five quality associations in the weltwärts program.
Weltwärts is a development volunteer service, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ) and implemented together with 180 civil society organisations.
Since the start of weltwärts in 2008 about 23.000 young people between the age of 18 and 28 have volunteered in Latin America, Africa, Asia or Eastern Europe.
2013 the program has been expanded to include a South-North component. Thereby in 2014 for the first time 150 volunteers from countries in the so called Global South could be welcomed in Germany – with the number rising.
Since its foundation in 2013 about 37 organisations from all over Germany have joint the association ventao. Our members annually send and receive about 600 volunteers.
We support our member organisations in the implementation of high-quality learning and exchange services in the field of development cooperation for young people, while at the same time trying to preserve the plurality of their approaches.
